Cut the eggplant into thin (about 1/2 cm) slices and sprinkle some oil on both sides. Don't soak in oil because eggplant tends to absorb it. Grill the elggplant for a few mintues on each side until it soft and had grill marks.
Place a piece of eggplant on each slice of bread. Then put 1 teaspoon of pesto sauce, and half of a cherry tomato on top of it.
